Thaddaeus’s practice focuses on land use, real estate, and environmental law. He advises a broad range of clients in real property matters, including purchases and sales, extensive due diligence investigations, industrial waste issues, and environmental damage insurance disputes. His land use practice involves assisting clients with local zoning and state regulatory compliance, as well as counseling clients on the risks and opportunities of buying, selling, and redeveloping contaminated property. He also advises clients undertaking development projects of all sizes on how to navigate federal, state, and local land use regulations.
Thaddaeus has always been committed to helping his community, wherever he is. His work has included advocating for the victims of contaminated drinking water, assisting in the establishment of a database of all federally prosecuted environmental crimes, working with the National Wildlife Federation to address invasive species crises, and serving on the alumni board of an organization dedicated to improving the college graduation rate of minorities in Seattle. In addition, Thaddaeus served as student general counsel to his 50,000 classmates at the University of Michigan. In this role, Thaddaeus worked with student victims to improve the school’s policies around the reporting and adjudication of sexual assault claims. He eventually coordinated with the American Civil Liberties Union, who he then further assisted in this effort. In the role of general student counsel, he also oversaw the University’s elections and election code, eventually tripling the University’s voter turnout.
