BLACK LIVES MATTER.
HCMP supports the BLM movement. Our attorneys and staff are dedicated to addressing racial injustice within our own ranks and in the surrounding community. Our work is ongoing, and we will continue to provide updates on the specific steps we are taking to work toward that goal, both as a measure to ensure our own accountability, and in hopes to compel others to do the same.
We have several initiatives in the works, and are evaluating the steps we can take in the future to do our part. Here are 4 of the steps we are taking right now:
- We encourage you to read “Letter to a Loved One”, written by HCMP associate Thaddaeus J. Gregory.
- We are prioritizing working with women and minority-owned businesses and vendors whenever possible going forward. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a vendor.
- We have completed firm-wide trainings on the foundations of diversity, equity and inclusion as part of recognizing implicit bias and addressing systemic racism. We are developing and implementing an ongoing curriculum and conversation opportunities for our employees’ continued learning, awareness and growth.
- We have established a matching gift program for our employees’ financial and volunteer time donations to 501(c)(3) organizations to encourage support and broaden the impact for a wide range of causes working to make a difference in addressing racial injustice in our community.
