HCMP has been proud to represent the Idriss Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Northwest, for many years. HCMP attorneys Brian Free and Lisa Chaiet Rahman recently collaborated with the ACLU of Washington to deliver a "Know Your Rights" training at the mosque. These workshops are a staple of civil rights work in which attendees refresh their awareness of their constitutional rights and ask attorneys questions ranging from immigration, national security, search and seizure, voters’ rights, employment rights, and First Amendment and public assembly. With approximately 80 people in attendance, including neighbors of the mosque and community leaders, the workshop at the Idriss Mosque was an inspiring example of a community and its allies coming together during difficult times. HCMP was honored to be involved and is actively working with the mosque to continue this important work.
