HCMP’s Business Team Welcomes Elizabeth Breakstone

HCMP is excited to welcome Elizabeth Breakstone to our Business Team. Eliz brings deep experience in commercial and tech transactions, trademark prosecution and enforcement, and product counseling. She advises clients ranging from solo entrepreneurs to publicly traded companies. Her work spans seller-side and buyer-side matters, strategic partnerships, and general business guidance, with a focus on industries such as telecom, gaming, medical devices, SaaS, consulting, energy efficiency, food and beverage, and retail.

Her legal background includes roles at Fortem IP, Smartsheet, Avalara, and Perkins Coie, all based in the Seattle area. Before launching her legal career, Eliz served as a librarian and assistant professor with the University of Oregon Libraries and was an AmeriCorps Intern with the Children’s Literacy Project at Seattle University.

A committed member of the legal and nonprofit community, Eliz currently serves as an At-Large Member of the WSBA Intellectual Property Section Executive Committee and previously served on the Board of Directors for Cancer Lifeline.

Eliz earned her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern School of Law in Chicago. She also holds a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree with honors in History and Anthropology from Oberlin College.

Outside of work, Eliz enjoys hiking, canoeing, exploring the San Juan Islands, baking, and reading. She also shares a love of agility training with her dog, Walter.
