HCMP congratulates its valued client the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) on a highly favorable decision of the Washington Court of Appeals on July 22nd. The Court unanimously upheld PSRC’s Transportation Plan and the Environmental Impact Statement on that Plan. A trio of environmental groups had challenged the Plan and Impact Statement on the grounds that it did not adhere to or adequately address the State’s requirements for limiting greenhouse gas emissions.
The Court ruled that both the Plan and Impact Statement met all legal requirements, and noted that PSRC had been a leader in addressing ways for the region and State to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. HCMP lawyers Melody B. McCutcheon and Kurt E. Kruckeberg successfully represented PSRC in the Court of Appeals, and we are very pleased that the Court recognized the fine work done by PSRC.
