HCMP Names Jake Ewart New Managing Principal

January 09, 2024  By HCMP Law Offices

HCMP proudly announces Jake Ewart as its new Managing Principal, succeeding T. Ryan Durkan. Ryan, who held the position from 2019-2023, led the firm through the pandemic era and expanded the environmental team by welcoming Joyce Ziker Partners, PLLC. Ryan will now return her focus to serving clients with land use needs. Before assuming this role, Jake played a vital role on the firm's Management Committee and has served previously as the Litigation Practice Team Leader.

Expressing his gratitude, Jake stated, "Being presented with this incredible opportunity is both an honor and a privilege." He is enthusiastic about following in Ryan’s footsteps, and in the footsteps of the other accomplished attorneys who have led the firm since its establishment in 1971. "I am committed to preserving HCMP's standing as a premier Pacific Northwest law firm, and will focus on bolstering our already best-in-class practice teams and unwavering dedication to client service. I’m looking forward to contributing to a continued bright future for the firm."

“Jake's appointment as a leader of the firm has been met with great enthusiasm and excitement. We are confident he will continue to uphold the core values and principles our firm stands for,” said Ryan. “Our commitment to our clients will remain our top priority, and we are confident Jake will bring new insights and ideas that will further enhance our services. We are excited to see what the future holds under Jake's leadership.”

Jake Ewart

As a seasoned trial and appellate attorney in HCMP's litigation practice, Jake brings extensive experience to his new role. His practice encompasses a diverse clientele, including public, private, and non-profit entities. Jake provides counsel and defense in complex, high-stakes disputes involving contracts, employment, class actions, securities, antitrust, intellectual property, municipal law, real estate, and federal and state constitutional law. He has a successful track record representing clients at all levels of state and federal court, as well as in arbitration and mediation.

Beyond his legal practice, Jake is deeply committed to community involvement. Currently, he serves on the King County Bar Foundation Board of Trustees and as president of Schools First, a volunteer organization that campaigns for the Seattle Public Schools levies every three years. This dedication to community engagement aligns with HCMP's values and underscores Jake's holistic approach to his professional and personal endeavors.
