Profile

Since joining the firm in 1978, I have focused my practice primarily on real estate and land use issues on behalf of office, industrial, retail, and residential developers. I have represented clients in a broad range of matters, including the acquisition and leasing of property, condominium documentation, subdivision and development of lots, environmental review, and all aspects of the local, state and federal land use permit process. I also have devoted a significant amount of my time to lobbying and drafting legislation.

 

Professional Highlights

Served as a lobbyist to the Washington State Legislature for Weyerhaeuser Company in connection with state legislation streamlining the local land use permit process.

Represented Nitze-Stagen in connection with the redevelopment of the former Sears retail distribution center into SODO Center.

Represented a local park and recreation district in connection with the acquistion of a large tract of land from the State of Washington, Department of Natural Resources.

Represented the developers of a continuing care retirement project in connection with the local land use process in the City of Redmond.

Represented a variety of Puget Sound area real estate developers in connection with commercial, multifamily and single family projects in various Puget Sound jurisdictions.

Served on the Departments of Ecology and Community Trade and Economic Development SEPA/1724 Advisory Committee on Land Use Regulatory Reform.

Served on the Board of Trustees of the Municipal League of King County, the Housing Partnership and Intiman Theatre.
