Profile

I joined HCMP in 1997 and am a member of the firm's Land Use and Litigation groups. My land use practice emphasizes addressing clients' permitting and development needs by working directly with local, state, and federal officials. I also have an active litigation and arbitration practice before the NASD, handling employment termination disputes for securities firms. In the overlap between my litigation and land use practices, I also have accumulated considerable experience in litigating employment, commercial, and land use disputes in state and federal courts, and before national, state, and local administrative bodies.

Outside Interests

I am an avid runner and, to my wife's relief, an erstwhile mountaineer. Since reaching the summit of Mount Rainier for the first time in 1997, I have been ascending peaks in the Cascades and in Alaska, including an attempt on Denali in 1999. My first marathon in 2001 went beautifully for the first 20 miles, and I have been developing an interest in Washington wines since then to erase the memory of the last 6.2 miles.
