Areas of Focus
 HCMP
serves a variety of clients with emphasis on business law, commercial
transactions, finance, tax, securities, bankruptcy, employment law,
technology issues, international law, real estate, land use, and environmental
law. We also are very experienced in administrative, trial, and appellate
litigation in these and other areas.

our clients, attorneys in our firm apply their expertise within three

General.
The attorneys in our business group have extensive and varied
experience in general representation, advising corporations, partnerships,
limited liability companies, and individuals. We are experienced in the
legal issues covering the full scope of business operations, as well as
the formation, structuring, financing, acquisition, and disposition of
businesses. Many of our business clients are engaged in highly regulated
industries, which has given us broad experience in dealing with state
and federal agencies.
International.
The business group has extensive experience in international
trade and business transactions. We regularly advise domestic and foreign
clients regarding the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of such
transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Critical
to success in our work is an understanding of cultural differences and
a sensitivity to diverse business styles. In the course of such work,
we have developed expertise in many areas of international practice.
HCMP has unsurpassed knowledge and experience in land use
and real estate issues. With about a third of our lawyers practicing in
these areas, we assist private and public clients with a full range of
land use and development, real estate, and environmental services. Our
comprehensive background gives us a keen understanding of the interaction
between a front-end feasibility and land use analysis, entity formation,
financing needs, real estate transactions, and permits and other entitlements.
We draw upon our experience in planning, negotiating, documenting
and closing transactions involving real estate, whether large or small.
With our clients, we regularly deal with every issue real property owners,
developers, investors and lenders face. We combine a thorough understanding
of the legal considerations with a working knowledge of the practical
realities involved in your real estate business.
The lawyers in our litigation group are skilled advocates
who practice in all areas of dispute resolution, including trial and appellate
litigation, arbitration, mediation, and regulatory proceedings. HCMP trial
lawyers have expertise in litigating cases involving corporate and business
matters, employment law, creditors' rights and bankruptcy, unfair trade
practices, securities, product liability, toxic torts, intellectual property,
eminent domain and inverse condemnation, and land use and real estate.
