Profile

I am a principal in the litigation area, handling diverse civil litigation at all stages. My practice focuses on securities litigation, employment litigation, antitrust, and corporate disputes.

 

Professional Highlights

Extensive arbitration practice including NASD, NYSE, and employment disputes.

Counsel for multiple securities firms, including Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, CIBC Oppenheimer, and Edward Jones in a wide variety of securities cases before state and federal courts and before arbitration tribunals.

Counsel for multiple employers relating to employment disputes, including wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, ADA claims, and violation of noncompetition agreements. Our proactive approach has led to dozens of successful outcomes using alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Counsel for both employers and employees in employment contract disputes involving non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.

Counsel for Horizon Air in a $78 million RICO and securities fraud case brought in federal district court in Spokane, Washington, which was dismissed on our motion for summary judgment. The dismissal was affirmed by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Counsel for Mitsubishi Corporation in an Alaska antitrust class action arising out of the Bristol Bay salmon industry. Plaintiffs alleged compensatory and punitive damages totaling $975 million; we negotiated a favorable settlement prior to trial.

Law Clerk for The Honorable William L. Dwyer, United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.

Twice recognized as one of the "Super Lawyers" in Washington by Washington Law & Politics, a local legal and professional publication.

First Place School for Homeless Children. I have been a Board Member and Secretary since 1994 for this school offering a safe haven for children from homeless families.
